William P. Dockins, MAI, SRA
(1934-2017)
A veteran of the United States Army, William P. “Bill” Dockins began a career in real estate in 1973, forming Dockins Valuation Company. In 1980 he received the RM (now SRA) designation and in 1989 the MAI designation from what is today the Appraisal Institute and was a member of the Greater St. Louis Chapter of the same. Throughout the years Bill appraised numerous properties throughout Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois and in other states throughout the region. He was also responsible for the professional training of several appraisers in the Southeast Missouri area, many of whom still practice. In October 2013 he sold the company to John Karnes, who had been employed by him since 2005. Bill was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Kiwanis Club of Cape Girardeau where throughout the years he had served in various positions, including President, Board Member, Community Service Chairman and Lieutenant Governor of Division 15 for the Missouri/Arkansas District.
